London had a Little Lamb

One of my favorite childhood memories is going to Cass Lake in the summer with my family and friends. I still remember the summer of sixth grade when my dad surprised us with a new boat and jet-skis and we knew that summer was going to be an adventurous one. We would be out in the sun all day and spend hours on the water jet-skiing and tubing. We would pack lunch and have a picnic together and talk about what we were going to do for the rest of our summer days to make sure that this was going to be the best summer ever. Funny thing is we are still doing this every summer, only know it is a million times better with the new additions to the family. Now that London is getting older, it is so important to me that I dedicate my days to her having fun and making memories, too. As summer comes to a close, I have included some ways for you to make memories with your little ones.

Part of making memories is living in the present moment with your children. You can’t enjoy the moments if your fingers are glued to your phone and you are checking out five different apps all at once.

I love to think of new places to go and new things to do that London may enjoy. I make a weekly itinerary and make sure to do at least three new things weekly. On this week’s list? Have a picnic at the park, make a fort in the living room and meet our bestie, Amelia for a play date at Troy Gymnastics. I think my little tumble bunny is going to shriek with excitement. She makes this adorable surprised face that I just can’t get enough of!

London and I love our babyccino dates. Whether alone or with friends, they always entail lots of kisses, cuddling and chit-chatter. We also like to snuggle up on the couch and read together, rock our baby dolls to sleep and put together our number and letter puzzles.

This is probably my favorite thing to do with my little girl. London loves the vibrant colors of all the different cars, and flowers and loves to be in the know wherever we are. She is always so curious and you can constantly see her little head popping out of the stroller. We love to enjoy the beautiful weather and always come home with a little pastry or sweet from a new shop or bakery that we discovered along our way.

Every day doesn’t have to have a crazy-filled agenda. Sometimes we like to be more relaxed and enjoy the little things. One of our favorite things to do is have a dance party. I just pop on Pandora’s greatest hits and we are off to dancing to the beat. London just loves that we are both being silly together and so do I. Other days, we pop in our favorite cartoon and share a muffin together. London is so generous and loves to share a few bites with mommy.

Today, London and I did a little bit of everything when I got home. We rocked our little doll baby to sleep and put her in the swing so she could nap. Then we took a short walk to a ceramic and stone gallery to make the final decisions on all of our kitchen and washroom countertops. London, of course convinced me to let her out of her stroller and was having a blast running around in this ADORABLE ensemble.  I could tell she felt like a total princess in the darling leotard and matching headband. She looked so sweet and she knew it. She even tugged her headband off at one point and then handed it to me as if she were trying to say, “Oh no! What did I do?!” I put it right back on and she proceeded with all of her running and jumping. It’s so fun to see all of the little ways they entertain themselves.

I’d love to hear the way you make memories with your little lambs. Please feel free to leave us a comment.

  2. Oh I love the post! I have a little brother and me and my mom always try to organize fun things and to spend a quality time together. Whether it will be a trip or some kind of adventure – we always make sure first to enjoy ourselves and then try to and capture the moments in pictures.

  3. Such a great reminder to make the most of these days that our babies are little. Your daughter is beautiful and these pictures are precious!

  4. Good tips! A lot of parents should read this. It’s all about the memories. I’ll come back to this when I have kids…hopefully soon 🙂

  5. I love your post so much and I am doing all things above. Your little princess is so beautiful! For me breastfeeding, hugging and kissing are the best feeling ever! 😀

  6. In such a busy world, I love how committed you are to making sure your little one has all the time with you to create memories. These are such important times and it’s admirable that you are so devoted to put away the technology and just have adventures (big or small). I don’t have kids but I love every part of this!

  7. What a beautiful way to make and preserve memories. The early years sure fly by fast.

    • Thank you so much, lovie! It’s amazing isn’t it? There is nothing that compares to that mother-daughter bond.
