This little time between Christmas Day and New Years is always my favorite. While the time before the holidays are usually a blur, it’s the short time following Christmas Day that is filled with relaxing,  doing puzzles and playing games that is most memorable and well-spent with our little lambs. The time leading up to New Year’s Eve is also super exciting as it is always one of our favorite nights to celebrate! In years past, you could catch us enjoying a fancy dinner, heading to a party downtown and dancing the night away with friends. This year, the energy and excitement will be the same but the celebration will be a bit different; we will be cooking dinner together at home, sipping on champagne and playing lots of games with our littles. No matter where we are, you will find me dressed up in something festive and fancy like this, this or this. My little girls have had these gorgeous Mama Luma dresses on repeat and I can imagine them twirling around in these stunning pieces all night long. For myself, I’m thinking sequins, velvet and a sparkly crown would be the perfect combination to ring in the new year!

I know so many of you will be spending the night with your little ones so I’ve gathered 10 fun ideas to create New Year’s Eve memories with the kiddos this year:

1. Drop balloons.
2. Have a slumber party.
3. Surprise the kids with Glitter Playdough.
4. Dress up in something sparkly.
5. Play games like charades and tic-tac-toe.
6. Have a dance party with glow sticks.
7. Make a snack together. This year we’re making Rice Krispies treats- London’s favorite!
8. Have fun with noise makers, hats and NYE props.
9. Have family story time.
10. My personal favorite is to have a mock midnight if you know your kids won’t be able to make it to the ball drop!
